This bronze seal appears to have been used for stamping the sealed envelopes of letters. The lion-shaped ornament serves as the handle of the seal. While it is much corroded, the face and tail of the seated lion gazing upward are delicately expressed. Beneath the face of the lion is a hole through which a string can be threaded. wall description: --- RELATED WORKS --- CITATIONS Choi, Eung-chon. “Metal Arts in the Late Goryeo Period [고려후기의 금속공예].” Kangjwa misulsa (2004): 125-156. page number: url: http://www.dbpia.co.kr/journal/articleDetail?nodeId=NODE09054886 Choi, Eung-chon. “Craftsmen in Metal Arts in the Goryeo Dynasty [고려시대 金屬工藝의 匠人].” Misulsahak yeongu (2004): 171-192. page number: url: http://www.dbpia.co.kr/journal/articleDetail?nodeId=NODE00996932 Goryeo Dynasty: Korea's Age of Enlightenment, 918-1392.
