Dutch artist Hendrick Goltzius traveled to Italy in 1590\u201391 and developed an intense admiration for the work of Michelangelo. This print depicting a piet\u00e0 may reflect his knowledge of Michelangelo\u2019s sculpted Piet\u00e0 while referencing prints from his native Holland.",
