                "biography": "Yoshida Hiroshi, first a European-style oil and watercolor painter and later a print artist, is considered part of the <em>shinhanga</em> (new prints) movement, which aimed to revitalize Japan\u2019s workshop-based printing practices. He was  particularly well known for his views of famous places. A world traveler who visited countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America, Yoshida\u2019s first international exhibition took place in 1899 at what is now the Detroit Institute of Arts. He had a wide collecting base in the United States.",
