inscription: 'Angry was the Manini, and not the least appeased by any prayers, she lay asleep in wrath and drew the sheet above her head for spite; Then all of a sudden and softly treading came her sakhi on the scene; and sending a message with his eyes, her lover rose and sat at her feet. Albeit she knew full well it was Hari's (Krishna's) touch, she made as if she knew it not; the newly-beloved spoke to him with a smile--- "O my dear friend, stay not apart, but come, let you and I on one bed sleep, and spread on sheet (above us)."
Inscription above top border: "The stubborn heroine, wrathful and recalcitrant, drew the sheet over her head feigning sleep. As her sakhi entered, the lover, signalling with his eyes, rose and sat at her feet. Although she knew it, was Hari's touch, the heroine dissembled, saying with a smile: ‘Come, friend [feminine gender], let us sleep on one bed and spread one sheet [over us].'"1
