        "description": "Neri de Bicci was a prolific painter of mainly religious themes, active principally in Florence as a panel painter. His grandfather Lorenzo di Bicci was also a painter in Florence, a pupil of Spinello Aretino. His journals from the years 1453-75, including the rates of remuneration for his work, are still preserved in the library of the Uffizi Gallery in Florence.",

                "biography": "Neri was the pupil of his father Bicci di Lorenzo and was influenced by the works of Fra Angelico and Fra Filippo Lippi. His earliest documented work is datable c. 1444 but he must have been active as a painter before then. A record of Neri's works from 1453-1475 is preserved in his Libro di Ricordanze in the Uffizi Library. This prolific painter maintained a large workshop whose main assisting members have yet to be clearly distinguished from Neri's own hand.",
