CREATORS
* Abastenia Eberle (American, 1878–1942) - artist
A sculptor of highly realistic fiigures, especially children, she worked in the lower East Side of NY when that part of the city was full of immigrants and resulting social problems. She was raised primarily in Canton, OH. In 1899 she enrolled in the Art Students League in NY and took classes from George Barnard. She and Anna Vaughn Hyatt collaborated on some sculpture in which Hyatt did the animals and Eberle the human figures.
