This image of Bacchus, the Roman god of wine and revelry, depicted on this plate in the form of a winged cupid, was likely inspired by Boucher\u2019s models. Representations of children in monochromatic color schemes, as seen here, were known in France as <em>enfants cam\u00efeux</em> and popularly decorated 18th-century French porcelain.",
