His photographs of nature have also been exhibited in group shows at George Eastman House, Rochester (1963), the Butler Institute of Art, Youngstown, Ohio (1976), and the Cleveland Museum of Natural History (1990), and have been published in Popular Photography, Ohio Motorist, and the Emerald Necklace (the magazine for the Cleveland Metroparks). Trained in art at John Huntington Polytechnic Institute and Cleveland College, Tichy studied photography with Minor White in five workshops and has taken seminars with Larry West (1990, 1991) and Ron Planck (1996). He lives in Middleburg Heights, Ohio.
