Each eight-pointed star has a narrow border of pearls that encloses a 16-pointed star with a border of scrolling foliate motif. The inner star has a design in the upper half that is repeated in mirror image in the lower half; it consists of pair of winged quadrupeds flanking a tree of life. All interstices in both stars are filled with a stylized floral motif. Interspaces are ornamented with a cross of four-directional palmettes. --- RELATED WORKS --- CITATIONS “Annual Report for 1966.” The Bulletin of the Cleveland Museum of Art, vol. 54, no. 6, 1967, pp. 159–197. page number: Mentioned: pp. 177-178 url: https://www.jstor.org/stable/25152162 --- IMAGES web: https://openaccess-cdn.clevelandart.org/1966.137/1966.137_web.jpg print: https://openaccess-cdn.clevelandart.org/1966.137/1966.137_print.jpg full: https://openaccess-cdn.clevelandart.org/1966.137/1966.137_full.tif
