CREATORS
* Frederick L. Hollendonner (American, 1927–1990) - artist
Frederick L. Hollendonner was a sculptor and painter who was on the staff of the Cleveland Museum of Art for 36 years. He served in the Army in Korea in the 1940s before earning a BFA in painting at the Cleveland Institute of Art. He started work at the Cleveland Museum of Art in 1953. He served as chief conservator from 1982 until his retirement in 1990. In addition to caring for the museum's art collection, Mr. Hollendonner created his own artworks, exhibiting in several May Shows and winning first prize for painting in both 1956 and 1958.
