        "description": "Sekino was active in the circle of the influential s\u00f8saku-hanga artist K\u00f8shir\u00f8 Onchi (whose work is also on view in this exhibition). Sekino focused on the harmony of poetic spirit and technique, which he considered essential to the woodblock print. His simplified representational style reflects his interest in the distillation of the geometric and organic shapes that give the Japanese landscape its characteristic flavor.",
