In Parma and upon his arrival in Rome in 1524, he experimented with print to study works by artists he admired, such as Raphael. He fled Rome at the time of its sack in 1527, and he moved to Bologna. There, he began his engagement with chiaroscuro woodcuts, collaborating with Ugo da Carpi and Antonio da Trento. Parmigianino then returned to Parma in 1530. --- measurements: Sheet: 24.4 x 18.5 cm (9 5/8 x 7 5/16 in.) state of the work: edition of the work: support materials: description: antique laid paper with unidentified flower watermark watermarks: inscriptions: inscription: inscribed, lower center: artist's initials translation: remark: --- CURRENT EXHIBITIONS --- LEGACY EXHIBITIONS --- PROVENANCE --- fun fact: digital description: wall description: --- RELATED WORKS --- CITATIONS --- IMAGES web: https://openaccess-cdn.clevelandart.org/2001.48/2001.48_web.jpg print: https://openaccess-cdn.clevelandart.org/2001.48/2001.48_print.jpg full: https://openaccess-cdn.clevelandart.org/2001.48/2001.48_full.tif
