"description": "This leaf is part of an important album of 50 drawings encompassing three subjects: processions of Daoist deities to the celestial spheres, the Ten Kings of Hell, and Erlang\u2019s Campaign to Rid Mount Guankou of Dangerous Beasts (soushan tu \u641c\u5c71\u5716).
This section of the Daoist pantheon shows a group of \u201ckings\u201d known as the Five Manifestations (right to left): Guangji \u5ee3\u6fdf\u738b, Guangcheng \u5ee3\u6210\u738b, Guangyou \u5ee3\u7950\u738b, Guanghui \u5ee3\u60e0\u738b, and Guangze \u5ee3\u6fa4\u738b. The artist chose for an unknown reason to put the fifth king, Guocheng, between kings number 1 and number 2.",
