Educated at Ohio University (B.F.A., 1975; M.F.A., 1981), she concentrated more fully on photography in various workshops with Eugene Richards (1976), Ralph Gibson (1976), and Art Kane (1981). Psiakis has taught at Cuyahoga Community College (1975-79, 1981-83), Ohio University (1979-81), the University of Akron (1991, 1994-95), Savannah College of Art and Design (1993-94), and the Maine Photographic Workshop (intermittently since 1982), and currently teaches at Laurel School in Ohio. She has received grants from the Ohio Arts Council (1983, 1987, 1990) and was a purchase award recipient for her entry in the 1993 May Show, the Cleveland Museum of Art's regional juried exhibition.
