        "description": "The signs and marquees around Times Square provided Louis Faurer with richly ironic images. Here, words from a film title and a promotional phrase become commentary on the risks of living in New York City, which in Faurer\u2019s world is the \u201cCity of Sin\u201d and the \u201cHome of the Brave.\u201d In 1925 the Rivoli Theater, a few blocks north of where <em>City of Sin</em> was taken, was the first movie theater to offer air-conditioning. Soon, most were \u201ccooled by refrigeration,\u201d and going to the movies became a way to beat summer heat in the city.",
