        "description": "Ilse Bing employed solarization here to evoke an otherworldly, surrealistic feeling. The procedure involves quickly re-exposing a photographic print to light during the development process, before the image is fixed. The result is a partial or total reversal of tone, so areas that are dark become light and vice versa. Bing considered darkroom work a final stage in a photograph\u2019s creation.",
